POLYESTER BAGS

Polyester Bags

Foldable shoppers, structured totes and backpacks. Fifteen models, minimum order 5,000.

Guide for buying Polyester bags

Polyester bags are reusable shopping bags made from woven polyester fabric. They are specified in one of two systems, and the two are not interchangeable: denier, the thickness of the yarn, written 210D or 600D; or thread count, written 190T or 210T.

That distinction decides what you receive. 210T is a thin taffeta. Our foldable shoppers run 210T at 60 to 65 g/m² with a PU coating, which is what lets them pack down into their own pouch. 210D is a structured Oxford used for totes and shoulder bags. 600D is the heavy end, used for backpacks.

We produce fifteen polyester models across that range, in virgin polyester or GRS-certified recycled polyester (RPET). Minimum order is 5,000 pieces.

210D and 210T are not the same number
Denier · Thread count

Denier measures the thickness of the yarn. Thread count measures how many threads are packed into a square inch. A quote for 210D and a quote for 210T can look identical on paper and arrive as two completely different bags.

If a competing quote says 210 without a letter after it, ask which system they mean before you compare prices. We will always state both the system and the coating on ours.

FAQ’s
What is the difference between 210D and 210T polyester?
210D is a denier figure, describing the thickness of the yarn, and produces a structured Oxford fabric. 210T is a thread count, describing threads per square inch, and produces a thin taffeta. Our 210T foldable bags run 60 to 65 g/m² with a PU coating. The two specifications are not interchangeable and should never be compared on price alone.
What is the minimum order for polyester bags?
5,000 pieces, across the full fabric range from 210T taffeta to 600D Oxford, in both virgin and GRS-certified recycled polyester. That is a low minimum for a fully specified bag. Because we produce in both Vietnam and China, the order can be placed in whichever country suits your tariff position and lead time.
Can polyester bags be made from recycled material?
Yes. The same styles are available in GRS-certified recycled polyester, which is the same material as our rPET range, made from post-consumer plastic bottles. A GRS Transaction Certificate stating the certified recycled content of your shipment is available on request. Our scope certificate is IDF-26-1040972, valid to 29 June 2027.
How long does production take?
Standard styles: 45-60 days after artwork approval. Custom development: add 2-3 weeks for sample approval before production begins.

Bk-bags produces polyester bags on an OEM basis: fabric, fold type, handle, coating and print are all specified by you.

The fabric system is the first thing to fix, because 210D and 210T are different fabrics that happen to share a number. Tell us how the bag will be used and we will tell you which system and weight to order.

The PU coating on our 210T foldables is what allows the bag to pack down into its own pouch and still hold its shape after months in a handbag. Without a coating, a taffeta that light creases and loses form.

Dye sublimation is the reason polyester prints better than any other material in our range: the ink goes into the fibre, so full-coverage photographic artwork is possible with no cracking at the fold lines.

More questions

Which polyester fabric should I choose for a foldable bag?

210T taffeta at 60 to 65 g/m² with a PU coating. It is thin and light enough to fold into its own attached pouch, which is the whole point of a foldable bag. 210D and 600D Oxford are heavier structured fabrics: use them when the bag has to hold its shape and survive daily use, not when it has to pack down small.

Can polyester bags be printed in full colour?

Yes. Sublimation is the method for polyester and gives full-colour, edge-to-edge print that screen printing cannot match, because the dye enters the fibre rather than sitting on top of it. Screen print remains the better choice for solid spot colours and small numbers of Pantone matches.
